Feminism empowers women in public life and decision-making, enhancing democratic processes.

Last updated: Thu May 22 2025

Women must be decision-makers because their inclusion brings essential diversity in perspectives, experiences, and problem-solving approaches. This leads to more comprehensive, equitable, and effective decision-making processes. When women have a seat at the table, policies and initiatives are more likely to reflect the needs of a broader, more representative population. Moreover, feminist leadership emphasizes collaboration, inclusivity, and intersectionality, prioritizing empathy and the consideration of diverse experiences when making decisions. By promoting gender equality and valuing different leadership styles, we build stronger, more just systems for everyone.

The participation pillar of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women Peace and Security (UNSCR 1325) aims to increase women's participation in peace and security efforts. This includes:

Increasing partnerships

Working with local women's organizations

Increasing decision-making

Increasing the number of women in decision-making institutions at all levels

Increasing UN participation

Increasing the number of women in senior positions at the UN
